New Weird book club/Lesezirkel – venturing into “new weird” and contemporary surrealist stuff, all about weirding nature, weirding human nature, weirding tech
Our idea of ‘weird’ is pretty open, we certainly do not want to follow a canon here. We’re interested in books that have a certain surreal quality, which can manifest either as magic, horror, shifts/rifts in the fabric of the real. Or tentacles. We’ve also called it contemporary fantasy, which gets us close but not really to the point.
In other words: this is much more about exploring genres and our reading interests than narrowing things down and finding definitions.
