Starting tomorrow, Jannik Giger and Demian Wohler will be installing their space and video installation Blind Audition <\/strong>in the two symbiont spaces, as part of the ZeitR\u00e4ume Basel festival. Vernissage is on Tuesday, September 7, the installation will remain until September 19. It’s about blind auditions: similar to blind tastings, these are supposed to provide for unprejudiced evaluations of music. A curtain separates musicians from the jury, which wants to fill orchestra positions in the best possible way.
This “best possible way” brings to mind (clinical) research, which also wants to eliminate the human factor as much as possible in order to get to the bottom of the pure truth; there, too, “blind testing” is an important concept.
